The following organisations have received donations from the PETT scheme:
CAP is at its heart an organisation that exists to champion the rights of people who are disadvantaged and excluded from equality of opportunity.
Their direct working experience is that people with learning disabilities are frequently excluded from important decisions about their own lives. This is due primarily to the complexity of the systems, the language used by professionals in the field, and by the lack of time professionals have to ensure understanding.
CAP work with people with a learning disability aged over 16. They provide independent advocacy to make sure that people with learning disabilities can understand choices about their care and support, the consequences of their choices, with a view to them making informed decisions.
The donation will be used to help CAP to become more socially enterprising and give staff the ability to be more mobile.
