Giving the Gift of Water Once Again

We may take access to safe, clean water for granted but this is a scarcity in some countries, so PETT decided to once again, give the gift of water.

The success of the not-for-profit Tuck Shop, stocked with chocolate, sweets, drinks and snacks continued, prior to the Covid lockdown, and enough funds were raised to sponsor a 2nd well. PETT collaborated with The WELL Foundation whose primary aim is to raise money to install Hand Pumps, Deep Bore wells and establish health & sanitation programmes to provide safe, clean drinking water for all.

Once The WELL Foundation had been contacted they set to work finding a suitable location and installed a hand pump in Trincomalee, Sri Lanka. Tube wells/hand pumps are manually operated and can lift water from about 30 metres beneath the ground. They are designed to last at least 10 years and can be easily maintained by the beneficiary. Below you can see it already being put to good use.

Why don’t you think about a fund-raising initiative yourself? From as little as £180.00 you to, could sponsor a tube well / hand pump giving the gift of water for at least 10 year. I am sure you will agree, a fantastic achievement.
